How to choose a ceiling cornice

Choosing a ceiling cornice can come in many ways.

The first (and most obvious) is by simply seeing one you like, and either taking a photo of it, and/or asking the property owner (if possible) what type of cornice they have installed.

The things to remember though is that the “look” of cornices will change, based on

  • The size of the room
  • The height of the room
  • The lighting in the room
  • Other interior decorating features

Just by adding a dentil cornice to your ceiling won’t necessarily make it look right!

There is thankfully a great tool created by the people at Gyprock here (click the image below).

Cornice Visualiser Geelong

Click the image for an online cornice visualising tool

It allows you to choose the general room style, adjust the cornice, the lighting and even the wall colour.

Go ahead – check it out.

What ever you see on that site, we can exact match for you. Even if you don’t like what’s on Gyprock’s site, there are always more options that we can provide.
